This blog is a companion to my Motobecane Fantom 29 blog. I am using this blog to write about my experience with my 2006 Raleigh Grand Prix Road Bike. I use the bike for fitness.

2010 Pedal to Preserve
Today I rode 21.0 miles in the 2010 Pedal to Preserve bike event. The event raises money to preserve farmland in Lancaster County. For a $25 entry fee you get beautiful scenery, a T-Shirt and a lunch. This is the fourth year that I have ridden.
There are two water stops on the 20 mile ride. They also have bananas and twizzlers. They also have 6 and 51 mile rides.
50+ years old. In July 2006 I started a fitness regime to lower my cholesterol. I do strength training and bike riding. This worked as my weight went from 206 lbs to 170 lbs over a 6 month period. My cholesterol went from 260 to 198.
I do not work for Motobecane, bikesdirect or any other bike company. I am an engineer at the local power company.
